Sostiene Pereira

An ageing Lisbon newspaper editor, Pereira (Marcello Mastroianni), labouring under the fascist regime of Salazar. While this editor seeks to hide in literature and intellectualism, he hires a young writer caught up in the passions and activities of the left. Between journalism never to be printed and views brutally silences, Pereira must choose how to be a witness, whatever the costs.
